Going Further in Wiki Land!

What is a wiki?

A wiki is a simple website that can promote transparent collaboration within projects. Pages can be added and edited by everyone in the wiki, and the revision history is remembered in case anyone needs to go back and change something.

For the BirdSleuth Course wiki, we are inviting collaboration between classrooms. Your students can post images, slideshows, maps, podcasts, videos, PowerPoints, graphs, and tables. Plus, not only can your students articulate their own ideas, they can read, edit, and critically review their peers’ work.

For the BirdSleuth Ambassador wiki, we want to give you a medium to communicate with other ambassadors by sharing resources, tips, and stories.

This wiki is a small one, designed so that you can learn the basics of how to use a wiki and take advantage of its features. If you have a question not answered here, you can try looking at the general help page (for general wiki users, not just those involved in BirdSleuth).

Note: some of the tutorials were made for general use and some of them feature wikis that may not be the your own. The steps are all the same, but you may notice slight visual differences. The menus displayed in some tutorials may not be where your menu is displayed. For example, in a tutorial, you may see the menu on the left side, but your menu is actually on the right. Do not be alarmed, and simply follow the directions using your own menu.
